Gudauri ski resort will be transferred undermanagement of  a private company.

Sandro Onoprishvili, Director of the Mountain Resorts Development Company, says that the Canadian company  Ecosign,  which is one of the world’s leading mountain resort planners,   has already prepared the resort development plan. Work on the project was carried out  within the framework of the contract signed by the Mountain Resorts Development Company under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development  and "Ekosign " company  in October 2015.

According to Sandro Onoprishvili,  the development plan is  completely new in Georgia’s  reality. Under the plan, four  development centers will be established  where intensive construction  will be carried out, parking spaces for  1 000-1 200 cars will be arranged as well as  hotels, aparthotels and  other. According to him, a special requirement was Gudauri and Kobi to become a connecting bridge with  Kazbegi. As a result, when the road is closed in Kazbegi due to   heavy snowfall, people will be able to contact with the outside world trough the cableway.

Director of the Mountain Resorts Development Company talks about the  investors' high interest in the resort. To develop infrastructure in the resort, the government begins the rehabilitation of a water system while  the Ministry of Economy the construction of a cableway. As soon as  the process is completed, work on leasing or sellingthe resort will begin. Onoprishvili notes that negotiations in this regard are underway though the government will first develop the resort’s  infrastructure and then will think about its  selling in order Gudauri to be  more attractive for investors and be profitably sold.
