Until the end of 2016 the total number of foreign visitors coming to Georgia will increase to 6 million people -the Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvilistates.

According to him, the growth of visitors, including tourists, is visible to the naked eye especially in the regions.

 "This is  very important and every family in the country should feel positive results of growth in number of tourists. The Government has planned a series of measures to improve the infrastructure in the regions, especially those which are of interest in terms of tourism development, "- says the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that  in 2015 the number of tourists has increased by  2, 2% in comparison with 2014 and amounted to 2 278 562 persons.

The number of visitors, which include both tourists and other categories of foreign nationals visiting the country, increased by 7% in 2015 and amounted to 5, 9 million.
