Quantity of Visitors to Ajara Tourism Information Centers Grows by 110.8%

The quantity of visitors to the Ajara tourism information centers have increased by 110.8% and made up 22 539 tourists in August 2016.

The quantity of visitors to the tourism information centers has increased in terms of June-August indicators. Namely, in June-August 49 198 visitors applied to the tourism information centers, up 109.10% as compared to the same period of 2015.

This year the tourism products development agency of the Ajara tourism department introduced renovated maps, guidebooks and services to visitors at the information centers, including new tourism routes in Ajara highland regions – Mirveti cycling route, Machakhela historical-culture route, Khikhani adventure route, Keda-Shuakhevi wine and gastronomy routes. At the information centers visitors are able to buy domestically-manufactured products and gifts characteristic to various municipalities of the autonomous republic of Ajara, including Machakhela historical rifle gift, honey from Mtirala National Park and Botanical Garden, Keda cigar and jams, and Pelamushi.

The Ajara tourism department has opened tourism information centers of the tourism products development agency in all municipalities and Batumi. Two information desks were also opened at Batumi and Kobuleti railway stations. The region visitors are able to receive detailed information at the rope-way station and airport tourism information centers for 24 hours.
