Georgia to Arrange Tourism Infrastructure at Enguri HPP

Tourism infrastructure will be organized at the Enguri hydro power plant (HPP). According to the 20:30 information, the project will be implemented through cooperation between the Culture Heritage Protection National Agency and various departments. The construction works will start in 2017 and end in three years.

The project calls for arranging rope-ways, landscape watching zones, corresponding infrastructure for extreme sport followers, the world’s one of the highest glass elevators.

Nikoloz Antidze, director general for the culture heritage protection national agency, has already submitted a due concept to Energy Minister Ilia Eloshvili and Minister of Culture Mikheil Giorgadze. The concept was developed with support of Estonian experts Ott Sarapuus and Andrews Kiresaar.

The status of a national monument was conferred to Enguri HPP cascade  in 2015.
