Hostel has 365 rooms and apart from that building offers a free space to work on special projects or to just meet people. Fabrika is ready for festivals, exhibitions and different kinds of events. Ana Svanidze manager of the hostel talked with Commersant about the new hostel about it’s different conception and services.
The main idea of the hostel is to create alternative space for gathering in Tbilisi, where Georgian and foreign guests will share ideas and impressions. Architectural group “Multiverce Architecture” (MUA) works on the project.
Building has four floors and the total area is 8 000 m2. As for the investment volume approximately 7-8 million USD has been allocated to the project. The idea of the project was to give life to abandoned building. We tried to preserve the most part of facade and interior because of the history and “mood” of old factory “Nino”.
Fabrika has apartments as well as dormitories, which is for every segment. Rooms have 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 12 beds. For big groups we have 12 bed rooms which costs $12 per guest. Also we have $100-140 apartment style rooms which have its own kitchen and terrace, accommodating four people. At this stage we have 3 person and double rooms cost $40 and $60 respectively.
Minimalist design and a Soviet-era architecture is preserved as much as possible. Unlike hotel rooms service and the TV is not available.
